Purchase and Return Procedure

Delivery Terms

1. When placing an order, the Buyer may choose the method of receiving the goods, i.e. use the delivery service provided by the Seller, or collect
the goods from one of the Lithuanian post offices or from the Seller's collection point.
2. For the Buyer's convenience, and to save valuable time, the Seller offers a “Courier” service:
2.1. A Buyer who selects the delivery service when placing an order undertakes to provide the exact delivery location.
2.2. The Buyer undertakes to accept the goods in person. If the Buyer is unable to accept the goods personally, and the goods are delivered to the specified address based on other details provided by the
Buyer, the Buyer has no right to make claims against the Seller regarding delivery of the goods to the wrong person.
2.3. The goods are delivered by the Seller or its authorized representative.

Warranty Obligations

The main characteristics of the products in our online store are indicated in each product's description. A manufacturer's warranty is provided for certain
products for which the warranty terms and period are stated in the description and in the warranty card supplied with the product. For products whose description
does not specify a manufacturer's warranty period or terms, we apply the warranty obligations set out below, established under the laws of the Republic of
Lithuania. You will find our warranty service point at Z. Sierakausko 15a-23, Vilnius, or Šilutės pl. 4, Klaipėda. To avoid any misunderstanding, we strongly
recommend that you carefully read the product's operating instructions and the terms of the warranty obligations and free servicing, and check that the warranty
card has been filled in correctly. The warranty card is valid only if it correctly and precisely states the product model, batch, serial number, date of
sale, the seller's stamp with the signature of an authorized person, and your own signature. When submitting a product for warranty repair, be sure to include
the purchase documents and the product's warranty card. Warranty obligations are carried out free of charge for the duration of the warranty. A defective
product is exchanged free of charge for a product of proper quality, or refunded, within 14 (fourteen) business days of the date of delivery to you. Products
must be returned together with their packaging; products without packaging will not be accepted. Please note that the Rules for the Return and Exchange of
Goods establish that, when returning a product of proper quality, it must not have been used, and must be undamaged, and must not have lost its commercial
appearance (so that it can be resold without additional cost to the seller). Changes to the appearance of the product or its packaging that were necessary
in order to inspect the product cannot be regarded as material changes to its appearance. Accordingly, where changes to the product were not necessary for
inspection, the consumer's request for a return should be granted with the seller's consent. If the parties agreed on certain characteristics of the product
(colour, model, size, set of components, etc.) and the item actually delivered is different, this constitutes a mismatch between the goods and the assortment
agreed by the parties. The Seller must hand over to the Buyer goods that match the assortment agreed between the parties. Note that in such a case it is
necessary to prove that an item of that particular colour, model, size, type or other specific characteristic was indeed selected. If the contract does not
specify the assortment of the goods or the procedure for determining it, but it is clear from the content and substance of the contract that the goods must
correspond to a certain assortment, the Seller must hand over to the Buyer goods of an assortment that matches the Buyer's needs known to the Seller at the
time the contract was concluded, or else has the right to withdraw from the contract. When the Seller hands over to the consumer goods that do not match
the assortment provided for in the sale-purchase contract, the Buyer has the right to refuse to accept and pay for them, or, if already paid, to demand a
refund of the amount paid, unless the contract provides otherwise. When the Seller hands over to the Buyer, together, both goods that match the assortment
and goods that do not, the Buyer may, at their own choice: 1) accept the goods that match the assortment and refuse to accept those that do not; 2) refuse
to accept all the goods; 3) demand that the non-matching goods be replaced with goods provided for in the contract; 4) accept all the goods handed over.
Please note that a consumer who notices a mismatch between the goods handed over and the agreed assortment must contact the Seller without delay. If the
Buyer fails, within a reasonable time after receiving the goods, to notify the Seller of a refusal to accept them, the consumer is deemed to have agreed
to accept the goods that do not match the assortment. Defective products are exchanged or returned in accordance with the “Rules for the Return and Exchange
of Goods” approved by Order No. 217 of the Minister of Economy of 29 June 2001. Products of proper quality may only be returned in accordance with the procedure
set out in the “Rules for the Sale of Goods and Provision of Services under Distance Contracts”, approved by Order No. 258 of the Minister of Economy of
17 August 2001. In this case, you bear the cost of returning the goods.

Refund Rules

If, after purchasing one of our products, you notice that it is defective, you have the right to return it to us within 7 (seven) business
days of the date of delivery. In that case, we will exchange the defective product free of charge for a product of proper quality, or refund
the money paid. Water treatment devices of proper quality may only be returned within the period specified by law and in our Terms of Purchase
and Sale, and only in compliance with those Terms and the specified requirements. In this case, you bear the cost of returning the product.
To return a product to us (other than for warranty service), you need to notify us by the phone number or email address provided. If the reason
for the return is defective quality, we undertake, at our own expense, to exchange the defective product for one of proper quality, or to
refund the money paid for the product. Defective products are exchanged or returned in accordance with the “Rules for the Return and Exchange
of Goods” approved by Order No. 217 of the Minister of Economy of 29 June 2001. Products of proper quality may only be returned in accordance
with the procedure set out in the “Rules for the Sale of Goods and Provision of Services under Distance Contracts”, approved by Order No.
258 of the Minister of Economy of 17 August 2001. In this case, you bear the cost of returning the goods.
When returning products, the following conditions must be met:
• the returned product must be in its original, undamaged packaging;
• the product must not have been damaged by the buyer;
• the product must not have lost its commercial appearance (labels intact, protective film not removed, etc.) (this condition
does not apply when a defective product is being returned);
• the returned product must have the same set of components as when it was received by the buyer;
• when returning a product, you must provide its proof of purchase, the warranty card (if one was issued), and a completed product return
form, which is provided to you together with the product.

Water Filter Installation and Maintenance

I bought water treatment filters a year ago. Now I'm being offered a filter maintenance contract. Is it necessary?

Water treatment filters fall into the category of a country house's complex engineering systems. If the water treatment equipment is not serviced on time, the likelihood of failure and further deterioration of water treatment quality increases sharply.

While the equipment is operating, mechanical impurities in the water hinder normal filter operation and can cause more serious problems down the line. In addition, seasonal fluctuations in water composition, pressure fluctuations at the system inlet, exceeding the filters' rated capacity, and untimely replenishment of the media used – all of these also affect the normal operation of the water treatment system. These problems can only be avoided through timely technical maintenance of the filters.

According to the recommendations of AQUAFILTER specialists, the optimal interval between service visits is six months. Clients who have signed an annual maintenance contract with our company are looked after by a “personal” account manager, who notifies them of the next scheduled service and helps resolve any questions that arise. We carry out technical maintenance at a time convenient for the customer, on any day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday.

Do I need water treatment filters?

The question of water treatment arises naturally when the water coming from the mains pipe or a well is cloudy, yellowish-brown in colour, and has an unpleasant odour. It is much harder to notice when the water appears completely “normal” by every indication – as if there were no reason for concern. Yet worldwide experience shows that water treatment costs average 5-7 % of a home's value. And that is no coincidence. Even water that looks good on the outside can contain such a “bouquet” of dissolved or undissolved impurities that using it becomes unsafe. The only way to reach a clear conclusion about water quality is to carry out a full chemical water analysis. The problem is reliably solved by treatment systems, in other words, water conditioning systems.

What tasks can a water treatment filter system solve?

It is essential to know exactly what requirements apply to a water filter system. We apply one set of solutions if the water is used only for utility and household purposes. We apply an entirely different set if it concerns drinking water issues. Our specialists need this information in order to correctly select water heating equipment. We pay particular attention to water hardness, or more precisely, sometimes to its almost complete absence.
Even though the water is intended for utility and household needs, it must still meet the sanitary requirements set for drinking water. We can already call such water “normal” and fit for use. It does not encourage rust stains to form or plumbing equipment to fail. Nothing will happen even if you drink a glass or two of such water, but for drinking and cooking it is better to use water purified to a higher standard.

I want to install a water treatment filter system. Where should I start?

Undoubtedly – it starts with a thorough chemical water analysis. Based on the results of this analysis, and taking into account the characteristics of your home, we will be able to recommend a suitable water filtration system. We also recommend filling out our inquiry form, and we will coordinate the whole process for you.

What does water need to be cleaned of?

It is generally believed that it is enough to clean the water of sand, silt and suspended particles, i.e. to make it clear and colourless, and the job is done. Some of our clients understand that this alone is not really enough, yet they don't know what else can be done, or how to “catch” in the water what isn't floating in it. That is why people are sometimes very surprised to learn that invisible substances dissolved in water can also be removed. Here are the main water-related problems that consumers encounter:

  • The presence in the water of undissolved mechanical impurities, sand, suspended particles, rust, and colloidal substances. These typically cause faster abrasive wear of plumbing equipment and pipes, as well as their fouling.
  • Dissolved iron and manganese. Such water is clear at first, but once it settles or is heated it takes on a yellowish-brown tint, causing rust marks to appear on plumbing equipment. Because of the elevated iron content, the water also acquires a characteristic “iron” taste.
  • Water hardness, determined by the amount of calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in the water. When their levels are elevated, deposits and whitish marks can appear on the surface of the bathtub, sink, and so on. Calcium and magnesium salts, also known as hardness salts, are the cause of the well-known problem of limescale deposits.
  • An unpleasant taste, odour, or colour in the water. These three parameters, usually referred to as organoleptic indicators, can be affected by organic matter present in the water, residual chlorine, and hydrogen sulphide.
  • Bacterial contamination. This is caused by various microbes or bacteria present in the water. Some of them can pose a direct threat to human health and life. Even bacteria that appear harmless at first glance release organic substances during their life processes, which not only affect the organoleptic properties of the water, but, by taking part in chemical reactions (e.g. with chlorine), can also form toxic or carcinogenic compounds.
  • This list does not capture the full variety of problems, but it introduces you to the main water-related issues that consumers face. The likelihood of encountering heavy metals, nitrates, pesticides, radionuclides, and the like in water is fairly low, but it should not be dismissed either.
    Nowadays there is a wide range of equipment that can treat water of virtually any quality to a level that meets even the strictest hygiene standards. Different types of equipment vary both in their operating principle and in their construction. The most common purification methods are mechanical, chemical, absorption, and membrane methods.
How do I correctly take a water sample for composition analysis?

A chemical analysis requires 1-2 litres of water. Plastic bottles can be used to collect the water. However, there is one thing to remember: the bottle must be one that previously held drinking water, not a beverage containing sugar or aromatic substances. Before pouring water into the bottle, open the tap and let the water run for 10-15 min., then rinse the prepared bottle with this water and fill it, with a gentle stream, right up to the neck, letting it overflow slightly. Try to avoid an air pocket forming under the bottle cap. After that, the container of water should be placed in an opaque bag or wrapped in something. This is done to protect the water from sunlight. Once these steps are complete, we hand the water over to a specialized laboratory. It is advisable not to delay, since the sooner the water reaches the specialists, the more accurate the analysis results will be. If this cannot be done within the next few hours, the container of water should be kept in a cool place. As a rule, to obtain complete information about the water's composition, the water is analyzed for 15-20 parameters. Express analyses covering only 3-4 parameters, offered by some companies, cannot fully examine the water's composition and cannot be relied upon when designing water treatment schemes.

How do I choose the right filters?

To answer this question, you need to know three main things:

The quality of the raw water entering your home. A full water analysis, carried out by a specialized laboratory or a company that professionally selects and installs water treatment systems in country houses, will help here.

Specialists will take into account all the indicators needed to select the right equipment and will assess whether your water is fit for household use or for drinking. Moreover, at a company staffed by genuine experts in the field, once you purchase the equipment you will be reimbursed for the cost of the analysis, and after the system is started up, you will be given the results of the treated water's analysis free of charge.

The amount of water required for consumption, or the system's capacity. Here it's important to understand that, when selecting equipment, what matters is not so much the daily water consumption as the water treatment system's ability to cope at moments of peak demand. This is because water use is uneven throughout the day. Typically, the most water is used in the mornings and evenings, and this amount depends on the number of people living in the house and the number of water outlets (faucets, etc.)

It is precisely these peak loads that the filters must cope with. Otherwise, some of the water simply won't have time to be treated and will not be fit for use. Interestingly, the requirements for technical water, used for water heating and sanitary-technical equipment, can sometimes be stricter than the requirements for drinking water.

The specific features of how a water conditioning system is adapted are determined by the type of water source (a well, rural mains supply, etc.), the characteristics of the room (area, humidity, etc.), and how regularly the house is occupied (seasonal or permanent).

Specialists who work professionally in water treatment can give you answers to these and other questions.

What mistakes can be made when designing a water treatment system for a country house?

Sometimes people who purchased their water treatment systems from a non-specialized organization turn to our experienced specialists: for example, the plumbers who installed the house's piping also recommended and fitted the filters. However, the residents end up dissatisfied with how the filters perform. Such situations usually arise because of equipment-selection mistakes made at the design stage. These mistakes can include:

Selecting a water treatment system without taking into account the chemical composition of the raw water;

The chemical composition analysis of the water was carried out using an abbreviated scheme – some of the parameters needed for properly qualified equipment selection were not checked;

An unprofessional chemical water composition analysis that produces inaccurate test results – such work is carried out by staff of companies offering water treatment services who have little experience or a poor understanding of the job;

An incorrect calculation of the required water treatment system's capacity, as a result of which contaminants get through during periods of maximum water use.

Choosing the wrong water treatment system can cause malfunctions in the existing wastewater drainage branch (sewage system). If water containing potassium permanganate solution or other oxidizers, from the filters' regeneration backwash, enters an aeration treatment system or septic tank, it will kill the microorganisms responsible for the biological wastewater treatment process. In cases where the septic tank's capacity is designed for a certain volume of wastewater, an “excess” volume of backwash water (above the calculated amount) can push wastewater out of the treatment unit, cause clogging of further treatment stages (if any) or putrefaction of the wastewater, and later result in an unpleasant odour.

What requirements apply to the room where water treatment equipment is installed?

At first glance, the requirements for the room where the equipment is installed seem minimal, but in practice, situations often arise where problems with the room have to be solved during the installation process. Let's start with the essential requirements:

  • The air temperature in the room must be above 5ºC;
  • The room must have an electricity supply (220V);
  • The room must have a water inlet;
  • The room must have a sewage outlet;
  • The installation area ranges from 0,5 to 2,0 m2.
  • In addition to these requirements, the following details need to be taken into account:
  • The type and size of the sewage system;
  • Power supply interruptions (if any occur);
  • The pressure of the house's water supply system.

These are certainly not all the questions our specialists discuss with clients. Sometimes it's even necessary to check in advance the dimensions of doorways, stairs, and especially stair landings and hatches (if it's a basement). We have encountered situations where the purchased equipment simply didn't fit into the installation room. To avoid possible problems, it is better to contact our specialists in advance and arrange a time for them to inspect your premises.

We're being offered an additional under-sink drinking water filter. Will using it make the water "dead"?

If your country house has a water conditioning system installed that copes well with its job, and the water coming out meets drinking-water standards, then that water can be used for both technical and drinking purposes. However, the case for installing an additional purification system in the kitchen can be determined by the following factors. Artesian and well water can contain, alongside other contaminants, fluoride and nitrates, which the main water treatment equipment does not remove during filtration. Only equipment operating on the reverse osmosis principle can be applied here. Such units remove dissolved salts from the water, fully or partially. Water treated by the household under-sink system is not “dead”; it is only partially “desalinated” and is ideal for drinking or cooking. A person obtains the bulk of their minerals and trace elements from food, not from water. That's why installing an additional drinking water filter under the sink is logical and worthwhile, and for anyone who's particular about the taste of their coffee or tea, simply essential.

Does a country house need an autonomous water treatment system?

The question of water treatment arises naturally when the water coming from the mains pipe or a well is cloudy, yellowish-brown in colour, and has an unpleasant odour. It is much harder to notice when the water appears completely “normal” by every indication – as if there were no reason for concern. Even water that looks good on the outside can contain a mixture of dissolved and undissolved impurities, making it unsafe to use.

According to the World Health Organization, 80 % of illnesses worldwide are linked to poor-quality drinking water.

Few people know that:

  • sand, clay, and mineral particles in water cause household appliances and plumbing equipment to fail, and reduce water pressure in the supply pipe.
  • prolonged consumption of water with elevated iron content causes liver disease, increases the risk of heart attacks, and adversely affects the body's reproductive system. Due to oxidation processes and the biological activity of iron bacteria, a water supply pipe can become completely “clogged” within a few months.
  • the constant consumption of water with elevated hardness is a cause of salt build-up in the body, eventually leading to joint diseases (arthritis, polyarthritis) and the formation of stones in the kidneys, gallbladder, and bladder. Because of elevated water hardness, deposits build up intensively in the water supply system and on plumbing equipment, which hinders the normal operation of household appliances.
  • besides chemical contaminants, water also contains biological ones, which cause various human illnesses.

The only way to reach a clear conclusion about water quality is to carry out a full chemical water analysis. Water conditioning systems solve this problem excellently.
