Aqua Gutta DUO-1035RX Water Softener

The AGS-DUO-1035RX water softener uses ion exchange to remove hardness ions (calcium and magnesium cations) from water. The water hardness ions are replaced with sodium cations. Softened water has good taste qualities and is clear and clean. The AGS-DUO-1035RX water softener softens the water and ensures that heating elements in appliances won't become coated with insoluble deposits (limescale), that plumbing fixtures stay clean at all times, and extends the service life of this equipment. Thanks to the use of softened water, insoluble, poorly heat-conductive deposits (scale buildup) do not form, guaranteeing more efficient, economical, and eco-friendly operation of heating and steam boiler systems. When softened water is used for laundry and fabric dyeing, there's no need for special anti-scale additives, less detergent is used, and dyed or washed fabrics come out soft, clean, and gentle. The chemical composition of softened water changes (sodium compounds increase) in proportion to the "depth" of water softening. Water softeners do not remove bacteria, viruses, or toxic substances from water. Softened water has a positive effect on skin, removing dirt more effectively when washing.

The water-softening function is performed by a special cation resin bed. During the sorption of calcium and magnesium (as well as a small portion of iron and manganese compounds), the water is proportionally enriched with sodium cations (ion exchange reaction). As these compounds are absorbed, the cation resin bed gradually becomes "saturated" and further water softening becomes ineffective.
The cation resin bed used in this type of filter is of food-grade purity, long-lasting, highly resistant to wear and degradation, and chemically resistant. Thanks to the good design of the filters and the properties of the media used, conditions for the development of pathological microorganisms arise very rarely. This type of filter does not remove bacteria, viruses, or harmful dissolved salts and compounds present in the water.
