Water Filters for Rust

If your water's color, smell, or taste changes, that's cause for concern, since it indicates an excessive amount of iron in water. Pure, clean water is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, so don't ignore persistent, unusual odors at home.

Rust usually comes from the same old pipes the water travels through. Often, when these pipes are being repaired, or during construction, excavation, or other works, dirty, brown, pinkish, or red water starts flowing from the faucet, leaving deposits and staining laundry. Such water cannot be drunk or given to animals.
